Bed rest...

I figured I was getting a bladder infection on Saturday and thought I had it under control until yesterday. I was in so much pain by 4pm that I broke down and called my Dr's office. They also figured it was a bladder infection, but wanted to make sure I wasn't having contractions. Thankfully my mom had planned on staying the night anyways and stayed home with Diva. Hubby and I got to Labor and Delivery and I got hooked up to all the monitors. The two hours we were there I did not have any contractions and Cobra had a very strong heartbeat. The lab results came back and I do have a bladder infection. The Dr said she didn't feel right about the bladder infection and did a internal exam (OUCH!!!!). I guess my cervix is softer than it should and now I am on bed rest for the week. With my history of going into pre-term labor with Diva at 28 weeks she wanted to be on the safe side and have me rest. We are sure I went into pre-term labor with Diva due to dehydration and I was able to keep her in until my due date, so that is a good sign. I go on Wednesday for an ultrasound and Thursday I have an appointment with the Dr to see if the softening is no big deal and if I can go back to work.

Oakland PD memorial

Today is the memorial service for 4 fallen Oakland Police officers that were killed last Saturday by a parolee. Please take a moment out of your day today to say a prayer for the officers, their families, and our brothers in blue.

I'm still here...

I'm still here! I have a few posts lined up for later this week, just tonight I am spent. I have been working on a big presentation at work that came to a very non climatic end today. I helped save the program I run, which is fantastic, but I probably saved it for someone else to take over after I leave for maternity leave. Oh well, it's a good program and I know in the very near future this type of program will take off here like it has back East.

Happy St. Patricks day!

I have a busy day tomorrow, so I thought I would wish everyone an early Happy St. Patrick's Day. Tonight Diva and I have been busy getting her Leprechaun trap ready. She's really hoping this is the year that she catches a Leprechaun and gets all his gold. I have heard from my sources that the Leprechaun will be leaving her a shirt to wear to school, green peeps (the leprechaun couldn't find any chocolate money this year), will be turning her cereal green.

My body does not want to be at work today. It's mad at me, because it knows I really woke it up at 4:30am instead of 5:30am.
