Happy New Year!

What are your plans for tonight or do you have big plans for tomorrow? I have a bad sinus infection so the family will be staying in for the New Year. I will be lucky if I stay awake until midnight. Hopefully I can push through the sinus pressure and take our annual New Year's Day trip to the snow.

I hope everyone has a safe night and a prosperous new year! With the change in year, I want to take this opportunity to tell all of you that you are a great group of ladies and I am so glad I have been able to get to know you all through the blog world. Until next year...

Hiding out...

I have decided, for the sake of my sanity, I will not be talking to anyone for the duration of this pregnancy. I know...it's a bit extreme, but everywhere I turn someone is having a miscarriage. Either it is a friend, co-worker, or a co-workers wife. I don't remember hearing about so many miscarriages while I was pregnant with Diva and I am beginning to freak out. Being sick and congested is not helping me either. I broke down Sunday and had hubby buy me some sudafed and Robitussin. I just could not stand the pain. I'm still feeling crappy!

On a better note...I finally broke down today and told my Supervisor and my unit about the pregnancy. I told my Supervisor first and he was very supportive of the pregnancy and of my wishes to stay in the Field. I then congratulated the unit on surviving my first trimester. They were all in shock...no one had any idea. We are all a bunch of smart asses, so I know I'm going to be able to have some fun with all of them and this pregnancy. Of course now I'm being called a breeder...I've been called worse.

Disneyland...

The week before Christmas we took an impromptu trip down south to visit my Dad's family and since we were already in the area we had to visit the Happiest Place On Earth!!! Diva has more and more fun each time we visit Disneyland.

On her first trip Diva was terrified of Goofy (made it kind of uncomfortable at Goofy's Kitchen breakfast) and look at her now!

On a side note...DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILDREN (OR FUTURE CHILDREN) TO KNOTTS BERRY FARM! We used to go there all the time when I was a child and I had so much fun. We finally broke down and brought Diva this time. BIG MISTAKE!!! That park has gone downhill and is ghetto. I was afraid to go on any rides with Diva in fear that we wouldn't make it. I knew it was a bad choice when after a half hour Diva was asking to leave. I do recommend Mr's Knotts Chicken dinner restaurant. That was the best Chicken dinner I have had in a long time and hubby recommends the apple pie.

Ultrasounds and nicknames...

Our appointment went great today and we got to see little one. I always think the first ultrasound looks a little like a seal pup.

I have caused myself so much stress the past few weeks worrying about every little thing that could go wrong. All of that worrying was lifted once we saw the heartbeat! Unfortunately, now that I am considered overweight I have to get an early gestational diabetes test (Thanks Diva! Oh wait...your 3 years old...I can't blame you anymore for my weight!).

My mind is drawing a blank and I'm too lazy to go through my previous posts to find out if I have already posted about our nickname for little one. Diva, Shelby, is named after hubby's favorite car (and Steel Magnolias!). When we found out we were expecting again, I couldn't help but have a little fun with little one's name. Little one's nickname is Cobra...get it...Shelby Cobra! I think a few of our friends think we are serious!

I'm back!

I had every intention to blog while we were on vacation, but the two hotels that we stayed in had their Internet down. Don't they understand I can't live without my Internet!?! I promise to blog about all the fun things we did on vacation. I can't wait to read all of your blogs to see how this holiday season is treating you!

My first OB appointment is tomorrow and I will be sure to post an update. Also, thank you ladies for all the advice on the late night morning sickness. I figured out my vitamins were causing me to be sick. When I start on the vitamins again I am going to add B vitamins as well (Thank you Jennifer for the recommendation).

My Sugar Plum Fairy...

I'm sorry I haven't been posting much lately. I do most of my posting at night, unfortunately no one has told Cobra (that's what we call the lil bean) that it is called morning sickness not night sickness. I have been feeling nauseous around 10pm every night! My first appointment is not until the 23rd and I can't wait to see Cobra for the first time.

Diva's dance recital was this past week. The show was called "The Littlest Nutcracker" and Diva was a Sugar Plum Fairy. Diva loves dancing in recitals, not because she gets to dance in front of a crowd or wear costumes. No, her favorite parts of a recital is that she gets to wear make up and she receives flowers after she dances. She has her priorities pretty straight for a three year old.

Molly the elf...

Santa has sent one of his most trusted elfs, Molly, to live with us until Christmas eve. She arrived on the 1st and has been reporting back to Santa every night about Diva's behavior. Diva loves getting Molly ready for bed in her velvet sleeping bag and leaving out a cracker and water for when she get's hungry during the night. Molly likes to get up in the middle of the night and after eating her snack, likes to hide around the house for Diva to find her. Mommy has no idea what she will do after Christmas when she can't use "Molly will tell Santa" to get Diva to behave.

This is Molly and Diva the other night. Diva was up all night sick in Mommy and Daddy's bed. Molly was worried and stayed close to Diva that night.

Police stop my car...

Thank you everyone for the well wishes and congratulations on the pregnancy! Thankfully, I have had no morning sickness (thank you 8lb, 6oz baby jesus!). It's been a rough week at work and I have been too exhausted by the time I get home to write a post, hopefully tonight I can write a more indepth post. In the mean time, for your listening pleasure...
