Introducing...

Robert James! He arrived as scheduled on July 17th at 7:55am, weighing in at 7lbs 7oz and 18 inches long.
We arrived at the hospital at 5:30 am for a 7:30 surgery. I had both hubby and my mom with me for support and my dad stayed with Diva at home. I had heard stories all along from friends that you never get into the OR on time and expect to be sitting around for a few hours, but thankfully we got in the OR on time. I was very calm through everything until the spinal tap...OUCH! I can still vividly hear his first cry, although when they asked if I wanted to see him I said "I'll see him in a little bit"...the spinal tap was making me extremely nauseous and I didn't want his first view of me possibly being me throwing up. When I finally did see him, he was perfect and looked just like his sister.
I got to carry him while they wheeled me into the Recovery room. I had a fantastic nurse who was on top of giving me my pain meds (mmmm...morphine...) and noticed that I was hemorrhaging. The other nurse said it was just a little extra bleeding, but come to find out it was more. Thankfully the nurse and my Dr were able to stop it while in the recovery room and I didn't have to go back into the OR or have a transfusion, although I didn't get to see RJ for 5 hours.
It's been two weeks and I'm moving around so much better than with my first c-section and I'm already 5 lbs lighter than when I got pregnant! RJ is a champion eater and is already a mama's boy!

Happy 4th!

I hope everyone has a fun and safe Independence day, or as Diva calls it...fireworks day! I have been given a direct order from hubby that I am not allowed to go into labor on his favorite holiday or at least not until he has set off all his fireworks tonight. I may just have to throw a few fake labor pains his way today...hehehe!

Only 2 more weeks....only 2 more weeks...

that is what I keep telling myself. Cobra should be making his arrival on the 17th and up until this week I was in no rush. I'm still not in any rush, I want him to cook as long as possible. I just want my body back!!!! I want to be able to take a deep breath, roll over in bed with out joints popping and me whining about the pain (ok that one is for hubby), and walk with out looking like a ummpa loompa!

What was I thinking when I said I would work until my due date! I'm so glad I had a change of heart and went out last week. It is getting harder and harder to get around and I think Cobra has dropped. Wow, confortable! With Diva she never dropped. I feel like I'm going to need a hip and pelvis transplant after this!
Please keep your fingers crossed that he stays put until the 17th!

Completely off topic, I'm watching Michael Jackson's Thriller video and even today it creeps me out. I don't like zombie movies or any scary movies for that matter.

I knew this day would come...

A lot of big things are happening this week!
Yesterday was pink slip day at my work and I was one of the lucky one's to receive a coveted pink slip. Did you know, pink slips are not actually pink?! I was very disappointed! We will know hopefully tomorrow afternoon if any of the 200+ layoff's will go through tomorrow after the County passes the budget. My feelings are that we are only going to lay off around 50 which means I'm safe. No matter what I will still have a job unlike a lot of my co-workers. I hold status in the class below me and have already signed the paperwork to demote. Good times.

I had planned to stay at work until I was ready to pop, but the stress of work and me having a hard time getting around have made me decide to leave work early. I'm 35 weeks on Friday and it will be my last day. I'm sad, because I'm being transferred away from a great caseload that I really made a difference in a few peoples lives, I'm having to go back to the hellish Juvenile Hall (really it's not much better for the staff than the inmates), and I'm being demoted. All of this is happening on the same day. Lovely!

Ok, enough doom and gloom! I will hopefully have a exciting post for you all tomorrow after the budget is passed. Keep your fingers crossed that we can save a lot of jobs! This city will self implode with how many Law Enforcement lay offs will possibly happen come tomorrow.

Yet again...I'm still here!

My laptop keyboard died on me so all I can do is read everyone's blogs at home. I am trying to be good and not be on the internet at work for too long. We should have the keyboard soon and I'll be back in the swing of things.

Last day of work is June 19th!!!! Yay!!!!
