Man of the year...

US Airways Flight 1549 Captain Chesley B. "Sully" Sullenberger. He and his crew did a remarkable job in landing the plane in the Hudson.

Uh oh...I'm in trouble!

So, I did make hubby that appointment for his foot. My mom had gone with him to the appointment to entertain Diva. Diva said she had to go to this appointment, because she had to talk to the Doctor about hubby...or at least that what she said.
I beat them home from work, but I should have stayed at work. When they got home I was greated with hubby saying "I hate you...never make an appointment for me again!". I can finally see him fully and he's on crutches and has a cast of his left foot. OOPS!!
Before our trip to Disneyland, he had torn his achillies just a bit. The doctor had him use a boot and told him to stay off it. Hubby being a guy heard "Walk around and ignore everything wife and I say". Well, he has now torn his achillies half way...the point of no return. He could have had a achillies release (have no idea), but it's too far gone. His doctor gave hubby two options...
Doctor: hubby you have two options (I hope he didn't call him hubby). The first option is to wear a cast for 3 weeks or so.
Hubby: Next option! I'm not getting a cast!!!!
Doctor: Ok, the next option requires me cutting the ligament next to the achillies, drilling a hole in your heel (a bunch of other gross stuff), and attaching it to your achillies.
Hubby: I'll take the cast please.

I think I will give him one more day before I start my "I told you so" song and dance. He so deserves it this time!

His warranty must be expired...

I noticed today that I have not had a post with photos in awhile. I promise, my next post will have photos...of what I have no idea!

I have not told all of you much about hubby. When I met hubby, he was working for a race team working on engines from NASCAR to drag racing. He then decided that he wanted to get his college degree and started toward his degree in Aeronautic mechanics. He was in his last year of school when we got married and pregnant with Diva (a honeymoon baby..hehehe). The month that I was due with Diva, hubby woke up to go start his long day at work and school. He collapsed from the pain in his feet. He had never really complained about his feet hurting other then the everyday hurting from being on his feet, so we were in a state of panic.
After a year of doctor's we finally got a diagnosis...psoriatic arthritis and Ankylosing Spondylitis (try saying that three times!). He hasn't worked since, but did finish his degree! Poor guy is on several meds plus has to give himself shots.
The day before we left for down south he collapsed again. He had injured his achillies which is common with his type of arthritis (OUCH!). His doctor told us that if the injury did not get better or happened again he would need surgery to release the tendon. Well, I came home today to Diva sounding like a 45 year old smoker (she's sick) and hubby laying on the bed. He didn't want to tell me, but he finally let me know he hurt his achillies again and could barely walk today. That means he won't be able to walk tomorrow. He doesn't want to do the surgery and doesn't want to call his Doctor. I had to remind him that now is the best time with only on Diva running around and not a Diva and a Cobra. He finally broke down and tomorrow I get to schedule his appointment (Big baby can't make is own appointment).

Thank you for letting me vent!

First Uggs and now this...

I would see women (mostly teenie boppers) wearing them and would swear "I would never be caught dead in those!". Last year I finally broke down and bought my first pair of Uggs. I know, I'm still waiting for the lighting to strike me. My work is extremely cold (thanks Arnold...you schmuck!) and the Uggs are just perfect for keeping my feet warm and cozy.

So now I have to admit to the OTHER thing I said I would never do...Facebook. I kept getting invites from friends and I finally broke down recently and opened an account. Of course all the girls from college look exactly the same with their tiny little waists. I think I'm the only one that has turned into a whale! I swear, it's all baby weight!!!
If you ever catch me on Myspace...just shoot me!

Diva tidbits...

Diva~ Who the baby's daddy?
Hubby~ I am, why?
Diva~ NO! Your my daddy. The baby has to have it's own.
(Thanks Diva, hubby already worries about me having so many work husbands!)

After swim class last night while buckling Diva in...
Diva~ Ummm...Mom...we have to talk when you get in the car.
Me~ Alllllright?
Diva~ Ummm....when I tell you something, don't say what after I'm done. I don't like saying things over.
(Oh the teenage years are going to be fun)

And the cutest tidbit she has said this week...
Me~ What do you want the baby to be, a boy or a girl?
Diva~ Duh mom, we can't know until we look in your belly!
Me~ Ok, what would be your choice?
Diva~ (without skipping a beat) If I have a brother I will love him and if I have a sister I love she!
(Note to self...start actually watching what Diva is watching on TV...how does she know about looking in a belly to see a baby?)

I'm ready for my close up Mr. DeMille.

Pink is my signature color....

I'm still feeling under the weather due to my 1 millionth sinus infection. I had to do some fancy talking to get my Dr to break down and give me antibiotics (she's not a fan of antibiotics and pregnancy).

So, I am spending my Saturday evening watching Steel Magnolias for the 1,435,853th time. I love this movie for the great characters and great quotes.

Truvy: Time marches on and sooner or later you realize it is marchin' across your face.

Ouiser Boudreaux: I'm not crazy, M'Lynn, I've just been in a very bad mood for 40 years!

Clairee Belcher: Looks like two pigs fightin' under a blanket.

Clairee Belcher: The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize.

Clairee Belcher: Well, you know what they say: if you don't have anything nice to say about anybody, come sit by me!

Shelby: Remember what Daddy always says—an ounce of pretension is worth a pound of manure!

Edit...Diva is now watching with me. We are at the wedding part and M'Lynn tell's Shelby "It's time Shelby". Diva made a shocked sound and said "She has my name!".
