A very happy unbirthday to you, to me!

No, it is not anyone's Birthday in this house, but I had to have it.
Don't judge me!

The good and the bad....

I am so glad the weekend has finally arrived! I don't think I could take another day at work.

First off...the good news of the week! I got my results back from my blood work and everything came back normal. Yay...see...the tests even say I'm normal! I'm am completely surprised that my glucose test came back smack dab in the middle of normal. When I was pregnant with Diva I failed the 1 hour glucose and had to take the 3 hour fun glucose test which due to the fasting and dehydration sent me into pre-term labor at 28 weeks (we really have no idea what caused the pre-term labor but I like to blame the test). Next week I meet with the Doctor that delivered Diva and see if she is available to deliver Cobra and get the OK to schedule the BIG ULTRASOUND!!!

On to some bad news. I know we are all going through some hard times with how the economy is right now. Some of us have had to cut back, some have lost their jobs, and some are just barely hanging in there. Some people think that certain professions are immune to the economy. I have heard from many people "you will always have a job, because there will always be criminals". I think Julie would agree with me...Law Enforcement gets screwed during tough economic times. More criminals + fewer officers= far too much work for one officer. So, if you are a criminal, know a criminal, or want to get a few out of your neighborhood/city, go ahead and send them to my County!!! We just got word yesterday that the Probation Department (my work) will be furloughing officer's. I will more than likely get demoted and take a big pay cut. But the bright side is...I still have a job. It will suck possibly going back to institutions, but I will have a job. I was planning to stay at work until the day before my c-section, but I may have to go on bed rest a few weeks early if I go to institutions. Ugh...just the smell alone will cause me to go into labor!!!

Diva and ice skating...

Our local outdoor ice skating rink will be closing this week for the season and we decided today would be a good day to take Diva ice skating for the first time. We encountered a few problems such as mommy hasn't ice skated in 10 years, mommy has never had to hold someone up while skating, and ice melts way to quickly when it is 70ish degrees outside. Diva did not seem to have fun the first two times around, but after she learned how to keep her balance and singing the lyrics to a JoJo's Circus song, she was really enjoying herself. I love that she enjoyed it, now I have someone to go ice skating with! I even got brave a couple of times and tried a few turns that come to find out are not easy to do when you are on the hefty side and pregnant. I think I gave hubby and my parents heart attacks a few times out there. Now Diva wants her grandpa to teach her how to play hockey since she's a pro at ice skating.
