The good and the bad....

I am so glad the weekend has finally arrived! I don't think I could take another day at work.

First off...the good news of the week! I got my results back from my blood work and everything came back normal. Yay...see...the tests even say I'm normal! I'm am completely surprised that my glucose test came back smack dab in the middle of normal. When I was pregnant with Diva I failed the 1 hour glucose and had to take the 3 hour fun glucose test which due to the fasting and dehydration sent me into pre-term labor at 28 weeks (we really have no idea what caused the pre-term labor but I like to blame the test). Next week I meet with the Doctor that delivered Diva and see if she is available to deliver Cobra and get the OK to schedule the BIG ULTRASOUND!!!

On to some bad news. I know we are all going through some hard times with how the economy is right now. Some of us have had to cut back, some have lost their jobs, and some are just barely hanging in there. Some people think that certain professions are immune to the economy. I have heard from many people "you will always have a job, because there will always be criminals". I think Julie would agree with me...Law Enforcement gets screwed during tough economic times. More criminals + fewer officers= far too much work for one officer. So, if you are a criminal, know a criminal, or want to get a few out of your neighborhood/city, go ahead and send them to my County!!! We just got word yesterday that the Probation Department (my work) will be furloughing officer's. I will more than likely get demoted and take a big pay cut. But the bright side is...I still have a job. It will suck possibly going back to institutions, but I will have a job. I was planning to stay at work until the day before my c-section, but I may have to go on bed rest a few weeks early if I go to institutions. Ugh...just the smell alone will cause me to go into labor!!!

I will be sure to send all criminals your way... if you send all the bad drivers my way!

I hear the same thing, people always say "You're safe, there will always be drivers, and they will always have accidents." But a bad ecomony means people don't have the money to travel which means less accidents.

They haven't talked layoffs yet here, but we have been told that we need to prepared to take on a different job within the company if we want to stay!

I'm so sorry. I work as a Sgt. for a CSU and the Governator here in CA is totally screwing us. While I have a job, I have no access to paid O/T and he's talking about giving us IOU's for future paychecks. I guess I'll give an IOU to my mortgage company!
