Happy Belated Birthday Diva!

Wednesday was Diva's 4th Birthday. I can't believe it's been four years since I vowed never to have anymore children (I must have had a lapse in judgement), bit my mom (I'll save that story for later), and threatened great bodily harm to the nurse (I still do, she was horrible). After 32 hours of labor, 3 hours of pushing, and a c-section I got to hold the most precious item ever imaginable. She has brought us so much joy over these last few years...and a few moments that turned us prematurely grey.
Wake up Diva it's your Birthday!

Wearing her rock star outfit to school.

I made this dress. Ok, I just sewed the back, but that was a big deal since I got kicked out of home economics in high school.

What every 4 year old needs, her own Ipod. I got tired of finding my ipod in her purse or in her room. Now I can take Rafi off my playlist!

Sweet dreams sweet Diva!

This must be stopped...

AT ALL COSTS!!!! Rumor is...she has a major crush on him. She was seen flirting with him after the Oscars and is currently in Tokyo where he is doing press for the release of Twilight. Please Edward...I mean Robert...I fear if you get too close to skanky Paris that you will get a incurable disease and will not be able to finish the Twilight sequels. STAY AWAY!!!

It's was just gas...

Sunday, my Mom and I went to see Confessions of a Shopaholic. I loved the book series and wasn't expecting much from the movie. I did like the movie, I think Isla Fisher did a fabulous job, but the clothing was hideous and the mannequins were creepy.
Later that night I started having a lot of discomfort and hardening of my abdomen. Already being terrified of going into pre-term labor again with this pregnancy, I went into panic mode. I tried standing up, walking, laying down, drinking water...everything. Thankfully hubby noticed that the hardening was only happening on the upper part of my stomach, not all around like labor. After two hours everything stopped and I finally was able to fall asleep.
The next morning I had my monthly OB visit. I explained to my Dr about what was happening the night before and that I thought it was maybe braxton hicks. I could tell she was trying not to laugh when she said "It was just gas...the baby is below your belly button". I need one of those mind eraser thingys from Men in Black for my Dr or I may never be able to face her again. But what a RELIEF to find out it was just gas!

Nobody dances with this dress...

I'm still feeling under the weather, so I am partaking in one favorite pastimes...watching movies from the 80's.
One of my all time favorite (right behind Steel Magnolias) is Always. Everytime I watch it I am sure to laugh and cry. My two favorite scenes from any movie are in Always. There is a beautiful scene where the lead Richard Dryfuss buys his girl Holly Hunter a girlie dress. She's the only girl at the fire camp and all the guys want to dance with her "Nobody dances with this dress, without washing their hands", she says. While she dances with the fire guys, Richard Dryfuss watches from a far with such a loving look while "Smoke get's in your eyes" plays in the background. It get's me everytime. My other favorite scene is when Holly Hunter "cooks" for the yummy Brad Johnson.

It's also a special movie to me, because it was Audrey Hepburn's last movie before her passing. I always thought it was appropriate that in her last movie she played a guardian angel.

I have the sickies...

I had planned on taking today off to plan Diva's upcoming Birthday party and to clean the house while hubby was at his Doctor's appointment. Well I guess my immune system had other plans for me today. I feel horrible!!!! Congestion, coughing, and aches...oh my! I wish I could drink a whole bottle of NyQuil right about now.

Catching up...

Last weekend was Diva's first "friend" birthday party. I always worry about how she interacts with other children at preschool, but after seeing her at the party I can tell she is a social butterfly. She had so much fun playing with her girlfriends! We also learned a valuable lesson...never leave 4 girls alone in a play room with stamps. What happens is you arrive with a Diva looking like this...

But leave with a Diva looking like this (pay special attention to her face)...

From what we could get out of the girls, it was a group effort and with Diva being the clown she is decided to be everyone's canvas for the stamps.

Comment Wednesday...

I can't believe it is already mid February! This year has taken me by surprise and I feel I am always trying to play catch up. One of my favorite daily activities is reading everyone's blog. It's finding time to leave a comment that is getting harder and harder. So...I have decided that Wednesday will be Comment day for all the blogs I love (yours...and...yours and...of course yours!). Care to join me?
